Lunch Announcement!

We are very excited to announce that Jersey Mike's has agreed to support EdCamp Santa Maria by offering a reduced price for sandwiches that we will have at the event. For a cost of $4, participants can choose from 3 different sandwiches with condiments. Thanks to Coco-Cola of Santa Maria for providing drinks for the day to round out the meal.

Teachers Take Back Professional Develoment

I found this great article today in ASCD Educational Leadership magazine from May of 2014. In this article Kristen Swanson, one of the founders of the EdCamp movement and the EdCamp Foundation discusses what EdCamp is, how it originated, and how it is based on the fundamental idea that teachers want to learn to be better teachers and can do so by learning from other teachers.
